An exciting opportunity for emerging artists aged between 18 -25 to have their work selected and exhibited at the Royal College of Art's Dyson Gallery during the London Borough of Wandsworth's Artists' Open House (WAOH) - an event that ran over two weekends in October 2019, with 130 artists across the borough, opening their homes and studios for the public to enjoy their artworks.
For the second year running, the Royal College of Art (RCA), teamed up with WAOH to offer bursaries to five young artists, who live in Wandsworth. The selected winners - Anna Woodward, Salma Nassef, Kelly Mosquera, Pietra Galli and Sam Cottington work in a variety of mediums and were supported through a group exhibition from 6 – 13 October 2019, which I had the pleasure of curating. The young artists were also supported with a mentoring session by a tutor or talented student from the RCA. I was delighted to be able to work with Hannah Lambert of the Community Engagement Department at RCA on the project. It was my pleasure to further the development of the artists' emerging careers, in such a positive and practical way.
